An American Haunting
This story tells of the recurring horror that a girl goes through during the night in 2006, in the state of Red River, Tennessee. It is the real story of a girl suffering from recurring nightmares, where her mother still reads an old letter from 1817 written by her predecessors Lucy Bell and will probably be judged in the end of the church. The husband, John Bell, is a cursed person by his rival Katie Bates, who has a reputation for dangerous magic, threatening Yan and her daughter Betty Bell all night.

There's thunder and lightning and wall-to-wall music. But it still doesn't add up to much of a movie.June 03, 2006
This allegedly true tale of demonic possession is weighed down by period detail and ponderous storytelling, which soon get the better of its Exorcist-inspired levitations, flying crucifixes and noisy poltergeist activity.April 19, 2009
The frights are few and the moment of horrific revelation is a big letdown in writer/director Courtney Solomon's cinematic treatment of Brent Monahan's novel "The Bell Witch: An American Haunting."
