Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan
A ship en route to New York City pulls unstoppable supernatural thug Jason Voorhees along for the ride. Jason eventually sinks the boat and kills many of the students on it, but many of them escape to Manhattan. Look out New York, here comes hell in a hockey mask.

It's actually quite amazing that a film titled Jason Takes Manhattan never really takes place in Manhattan. At least the Muppets kept their titular promise to bite the Big Apple.February 19, 2014
The makers of the Friday films wouldn't even consider stopping the series till they hit that magic number: Part XIII.September 12, 2007
An inscrutable narrative that pukes its way across an unforgivably long 100 minutes.February 20, 2008
Worst of the series, Jason doesn't really take anything.January 01, 2000
Among the passengers is a bright girl who's having visions of a drowning boy, her smarmy guardian, her concerned teacher, a boyfriend whose soon-to-be-late father is the ship's captain, and assorted high school stereotypes.October 28, 2005
Not even remotely scary, and on top of that less than 1/3 of the film takes place in New York. False advertising, I say!April 13, 2015
...ultimately stands as a very slight improvement over its various predecessors.August 10, 2011
Overall, as a horror fan, even the weakest of movies can still hold a place in my heart and Jason Takes Manhattan is definitely one of them.January 26, 2006
For what it's worth (very little), probably the best in the series.February 15, 2009
This is easily the most disappointing of the original...movies - which is quite an achievement when you consider that the overall quality of the franchise was hardly high enough to raise expectations to a level that would allow for disappointment.
